This project comprised the construction of three buildings (A, B and C) which together form a student accommodation facility called ‘The Print Hall’ after the printing works that previously occupied the site.
The new Print Hall buildings extend to approximately 8,860m² and accommodates 267 student rooms comprising 104 postgraduate self contained studios and 163 en-suite rooms arranged in 26 cluster flats each containing 5 to 7 bedrooms sharing a common dining and living space.
In addition the building provides approximately 1000m² of larger scale common rooms and amenity facilities including; a quiet study room, a meeting and presentation suite, a gymnasium, a games room and laundry together with private external spaces.
The main building, Building A, extends from between 4 - 11 storeys and includes a central reception and management office. Central plant rooms serve all three buildings, located at lower ground floor level together with a centralised waste management centre and covered store for 90 cycles. Building B is arranged over four floors and includes a café at street level. Building C is a three storey structure.
The facility is designed to meet BREEAM Very Good
